    Camping

Does anyone on here do any form of camping, not mobile homes but under canvas?
  2. No m8 i need a hard copy, I ended up buying a waterproof map holder that is just a bit bigger then A4, but it does keep the paperwork dry, even dunked it in the bath overnight and was still dry so i got there in the end. All1
  3. Thx for the reply just been given a tip to try someone called aquapac and they had what i needed, it was a simple map pocket but it's over A4 size so will do fine for just keeping papers safe but i'll test it a few times before i need it in anger "so to speak" All1
  4. I want to take some photocopies of important documants and store them in some kind of waterproof wallett, however best i can find is "Nirex military wallet" but this is not sealed so will not withstand submersion in water so i thought my next best option is to laminate the paperwork, however never worked with laminators before i'm unsure if once i have laminatored and trimmed it will still stay waterproof or not, does anyone have any experience of this otherwise my only option i can find is something like ebay item number 121725245860 and i don't fancy that. All1
  5. Don't laugh but stacked it on way home from picking it up, going into a petrol station, felt like such a t1t, only damage was scratched pannier but you won't know what that is it's for us old fogies to use

  9. I am in the early stages of planning a Land's End to John o' Groats motorbike ride for next year. the trip should last for about 4-6 weeks and be a mix of wild camping (in Scotland)/camping sites/hotels and cheaper accommodation, and by this i mean something like using AirBNB, I have read some great stories and also some nightmare stories as well, does anyone have any experience of using either AirBNB or any other apps or sites that may do something similar. All1

  16. Makes me sick.. I'm looking at just over £300 TPFT, don't mind but i have spent a fortune on tracker/PIR sensor/chains/padlocks/disclocks anyone would think it's worth 20k or something, then there is helmet/gloves/hi Viz (old man u see) waterproofs/sat nav/radio/speakers, havent even looked at my camping gear, mind you i have bought a chair but that is about it, off to buy lid later today and gloves, then i can sort out train ticket to go an pick the damm thing up from Scunthorpe somewhere so a nice ride home if nothing else All1
  17. Who is your insurance with SirZ, I have just bought myself a ST1300 today and hunting round for decent deal All1
  18. OK cool let me know if you come up with anything Jamer. All1
  19. You see using cat5 or any kind of wiring would mean running cable right through the flat and that is a major pain in the rear for me, hence looking for some kind of wireless, i can power it from either shaver socket or inside water cupboard where my water pump is and run something off that as i say to power it, but wirelss would be a much better option for me. All1
  20. That's not my garden DJ, i have no garden i'm on 1st floor flat so screwed as far as storing it anywhere, if £200 is no good how much should i be looking at? All1
  21. I'm about 80% sure i will be buying another motorbike in the next month or 2 (just depends when i can find a decent deal), the trouble is i have nowhere i can park it safely, from either some git who may want to nick it plus the disgusting little rug rats round here who may want to climb all over it, so i'm looking at some kind of CCTV system. The trouble is I only a single window that i can use to mount the camera and that is my bathroom and the only mains socket in the is the 2 pin shaver socket so mains supply is not great to it, i would like wireless for data as wiring round the flat is a nightmare but i'm unsure on what kind of technology i should use, I want it to be able to cap both day and night, plus audio and it would be helpful if it had some kind of app to work on android. The bike will be parked where the black car is and will be right up against the wooden pole and chained to that, plus i'm also hoping to get some kind of anchor point on the floor to chain it too further, but to be honest i don't think theft is going to be my main problem, it will be the kids stopping them jumping all over it, the bike will have a proper bike cover going over it along with a waterproof tarpauling that will have eyelets going round the bottom and this will all be drawn together with a cable lock to stop them getting under the cover and getting in that way. In a nutshell i want to be able to have proof for the mums and dads that there loved one has been climbing all over my bike and just get them to stop, budget is about £100-£200. All1
  22. £87 Jesus that's a bargain, shame i don't have anyone outside London i can reg the bike with, i done that at my ma's in Northampton, saved me a bomb over time, what's a 60+ year old doing riding a ZZR6? You need one of these m8 Mind you i'd bet you'd bung a hayabusa lump on the back of it. All1
  23. Thanks David amen to the last bit, I rode till i was about 30 and then gave it up due to insurance costs (amonst other things) but now just hit 49 insurance does not seem to bad about £500 fully comp living in central london and no garage or anything to protect it TPFT is about £280, so not to bad in todays world i guess. All1
  24. Didn't know that about single wheels, handy bit of info. Mind you does not help me get back on bike when i see this kind of clip http://tinyurl.com/nn6qyjs All1
  25. Living in London there is no point in having anything other then 2 wheels it would be a waste of money, i want to get back into it for 2 reason and one of them is to do something i have always wanted and that is John o'groats to Lands End going via Wales and stopping at a mix of hotels and camping (first time i have ever done that), it's about 900 miles i think but i reckon it will be closer to 1,500 given some of the detours i want to take. That little unicycle thing looks cool well handy for people in to get to and from the tube or train station but i dont think we are allwed to run them on the road over here. All1
