Cheers A1. I have the stream but want to check what time it's on the show first so I will listen and then post the link. It's an interview of one of my best mates on the radio yesterday so don't particularly need high bit rate. Ta

I need a favour which is in fact for a friend. He is being interviewed on our local radio station and I guess that the links expire after a week (well not sure). If I post the link to the radio program and the time I need recorded which is about 5 mins in length, can anyone do it and save it so it can be replayed? Cheers Derren

Chippy is always a good business if in the right location. When looking at this sort of business before I was told to count the chimney pots around you as this is your potential custom. Banks are terrible at lending at the moment but of course it depends on your business plan and structure. You will need a good business plan and you really need to understand the finance. Most of these types of business will be a sole trader so basically this means everything you have is at risk and you will probably need to put your house as security to any loan. The other option is a limited company but the likely hood of getting a loan on a limited company is virtually nil and if they did you would need to provide a personal guarantee. HSBC are the worst to lend with Lloyds being the best. So as with any business you would need to keep good records. HMRC are notorious at the moment at looking into cash business's so you would need to keep everything straight (until you know how to play the game :Winky: ) Tax will need to be paid on the profits and if a sole trader this income would be added to any other income. So you need to pay tax and class 2 nic contibutions on profits. This works out at roughly 30% of any profit you make. So you really need to look sets of accounts provided to you by the current owners to see how viable it all is. Whatever the level of profits is, loan repayments will come out after this. So see if you have enough to live. I see so many business's that just get by making a few thousand pounds profit for so much work. The owners are usually happy that they don't have to pay much tax on low profits but I say you might as well work in the local factory if thats all your making. Now one last thing, I love fish and chips. But for years its hard to get decent fish and chips where I live. Quality is very important and I used to go to a chippy where you ordered fish as you went in. Took 5 mins or so but that was the best fish ever rather than soggy fish that has been cooked ages ago. I avoided 3d for same reason. I would not mind watching the odd film if I had it but not all the time. BTW A1 re 46 inch we are in a small flat and can sit pretty close to the tv ie 5 ft away and its perfect. I think you need to look at the AV forums as they have all this info and you can read up on it. D

This is hell of deal if you can stretch. http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/panasonic-viera-tx-p42vt20b-42-full-hd-plasma-3d-tv-08160381-pdt.html and the model that supersceeded mine http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/panasonic-viera-tx-p42g30b-42-full-hd-plasma-tv-09933668-pdt.html

Well I spent ages researching my tv before purchase. Having an old Panasonic CRT Qunitex tv which served me so well for so many years I was swayed again to panasonic. And to be honest panasonic are the best make out there. Well it used to be Pioneer and those are still the holy grail but they stopped making them and sold MOST of their technology to guess who - yes Panasonic. So months of research and all magazines and this is the conclusion on people in the know. The best tvs are Plasma. Every sales man will try and tell you different as there is more profit margin on LCD. But plasmas is really the way to go. Saying that you must hit the price bracket of over £500.00 or the more the better. My tv is a Panasonic 46inch G20. This is well known as being one of the best on the market. Its just been superseeded by the G30. They are second best in the range of panasonic tvs with the V series coming first but for many more pennies. There is a difference if you compare side by side but having the G on its own you would be extremely happy. Being a pani fan boy I just went out and bought one for my squash club and the model was the http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TX-P42U30B-42-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B004OYVBTC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311885966&sr=8-1 and a very nice tv it is too. If you can not stretch to the G series then this is a good compromise. Its come down in price as we got it only a month ago for £500 and that was with a discount. Buy from a panasonic shop and they usually do there best to price match. I have never failed to get a discount plus you get a 5 year guarantee which is worth its weight in gold. There are a few dos and dont's when you buy one for the first 200 hours ie dont go gaming straight away and be careful what you watch with the logos but after that there will be no trouble. Derren

Excellent news except I am sceptial for the real reason that is probably people will burn more fuel rather than reach their destination quicker and this means more money in the coffers from the friendly motorist.

Well done boss - for the article in the local paper. A good write up there and a picture of your mug too.

Ha I remember a few debats where the post count became quite contentious and some people posting things like thanks just to increase their count. I could not get my head around it then and a few years on i really can not get my head around it.

Well done Cobra. Also been there and got the t-shirt but Jamer reset the pad before - the spoil sport. I am hoping he has not noticed my post count.

I was at Hereford Utd game last night and there was a female lino and someone shouted from the stand quite clearly - "lino, you don't know the offside rule". It was funny as nothing had happened and everyone was laughing except for her. Anyway to discuss it, for a start I can not stand andy prick gray. He really comes out with so much crap during games and I a glad to see him gone. But is there more to this. Gray is currently in legal action against news of the world - whose owners own sky sports. All of a sudden all this evidence comes to light and only sky could have released it. Did they set him up? Why not sack Richard Keys too (he might resign tonight). I just wonder but in the end feck off andy gray.
