Please do come in as far as you are allowed to. Have a look at one of the longest standing sites, supported by some of the longest standing members of any other site that you've probably ever visited. Yes, there are one or two "hoops" to clearly jump through. Yes, we need to know that you are OK to be here and we also need to hear from you over time before you can be allowed into our "elsewheres". We are a safe site and we are a Family.... a safe and sound and fruitful Family.

yes.. well.. do you remember anything to do with tinfoil? We had a great many back-and-forths and just as many belly-laughs as we'd post and re-post. Where's Mike? Where's Jason? Where's Sparks? Where's the other member who used to fight with him all of the time?.. all of the time! I recall a time when one of them had to rip himself from "loggerheads" in order to travel or something and that Spidey and I tried to take their places. Our attempt started out well but faltered. Spidey....You had me at "how's she goin', eh?

People move all over the damned place all of the damned time, Ogre. There's got to be a home though. There's got to be a place where people can come back to or skip off of or just stay in. "facebook" and the others do NOT fit a Home profile. There are a finite number of people here in this House and we all have the real opportunity to know each other. This is gold. All else is all else.

All of us here (west coast, at least) miss Eddie the Eagle. Not joking. He could still make money over here just by signing things.

Hockey (as played on the ice) started here and has spread throughout many nations. Those nations who've gotten it will always want to beat us at it. Some have, from time-to-time. Mostly though, we come up with the gold. yay. Congratulations to our Women and Men as well! yay again! CANADA.

Perhaps we who care about this place can do a wee bit more than just say what a great place this is and that Jamer's done a good job, Jedi.

You do know that we've got two more Daves here and that your spot can be taken by either one of them who might come to life here and fill your spot that you've left on account of being dead, right?

Is there a list of those Jamer folks who've died?

My goodness. Seems like a vacuous chasm here now. Let's hope for the return of others who might miss this Home. Some others who might fill these gaping gaps.

I'm not well versed with computers but have taken some very good guidance and downloads from members here in the past. I used to visit here regularly (2nd home) for quite a long time in order to keep up with or add to the fire-works and to compliment and cajole friends who I'd gained. It was during those daily visits that I was able to stumble upon or be directed to those threads that were able to lift me from my cyber-ignorance as best as could be done and in those helpful threads, finding even more Pals. I'm certain that the Pad still has lots to offer technically and otherwise, but there doesn't seem to be a beating heart here anymore. It seems as though our "snowball" was rolled back up its hill and needs to roll back down again so as to bulk itself back up.

I've just come back as well and I do remember you. Are we flooding back ? I do hope so. I would love to see a full Family once again. Do you remember "Sparks", who would sometimes cause a rumble here and there with our "anal-retentives" ? He was a live-wire and mostly out of his own control, but made me aware of what I I did not know before I knew him.

Just now read this brilliant piece, Dave. What better CHRISTMAS present than a good laugh ...thanks. However, I can't help but think of the nonsense that's inspired you to write it and it's given my laughter a bitter twinge. A very (belated) Merry Christmas to you too!
