adam
Hi, Even though I thought that I'd turned off the Windows update feature on Win 7, it's still seems to update, and once it does that, my system crashes. is there any way I can completely stop all Windows updates? Thank you, and Seasons Greetings…. Adam
cobra
When you turn it off the are links that you can click that turn it on again even anti-virus software can turn it back on when you update your AV the only way i know how to do this is too turn off the windows update service. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools and look for Services and than look for Windows Update you need to set the start up type as Disabled than do the same for Security Center Restart windows and your good to go mate. adam
Thank you Cobra, have followed your instructions. If I run AV software (Avast), will it start it up again? Regards, Adam
cobra
Your av software can only turn it back on using Security Center so if this is turned off too your OK to run it your av software.
